Bullying - lesson plan

Lesson objective:  Students learn what is bullying and what they do when they see bullying and are bullied.
Stage of lesson	Activity			Time
Warm up		Ask the students to define bullying , write their responses on the board, create a collaborative definition.	7 minutes
Activity 1		Pass out handouts and ask students to work in pairs. They have to read different situations and guess which one is about bullying and explain it.	5 minutes
Activity 2		Show  the students video about bullying (http://www.pacerkidsagainstbullying.org/kab/what-is-bullying/what-is-bullying-videos/)	3 minutes
Activity 3		Students discuss the video, they also talk who was the target of the bullying, why kids bull each other and how they think what the reason is	5 minutes
Activity 4		Ask the students to work in the small groups – how they think they can prevent bullying. They have to put their ideas on the charts and present to the class	10 minutes
Activity 5		Presentation of the groups.	10 minutes
Assessment and homework		Teacher evaluates their group works and involvement in the class discussion. At home , the students will write the essay: “Be a student against bullying”	5 minutes
